Mayor Jeffrey Lim Abducted, Finally Released

BETWEEN SIX and seven in the evening on Monday, April 2, eight armed men abducted current mayor Jeffrey Lim while having a meal in a restaurant within the new Salug Public Terminal with his wife. Reports from Salug said that under the point of guns the men bound the mayor, put him in a waiting yellow get away van, and drove away towards the nearby town of Caracol.

Later that evening, the get away vehicle was seen burning near the Caracol bridge, the abductors and the mayor are nothing to be found. There is suspicion that they leave through the Caracol seashore.

04092012 - Raids on Known Lairs Failed Joint military-policy forces that the Philippine Army 1st Infantry Division conducted in the last couple of days failed to find the abductors and mayor Lim. These hideouts, identified by the police, are located in the towns of Ipil (Zamboanga Sibugay), Salug (ZDN) and Kalawit (ZDN). Salug police earlier identified the suspects.
11062012 - Returned at Dawn At least 10 men returned abducted Mayor Jeffrey Lim to his family at around three at dawn. This after his family reportedly paid P1.3 million.
